The gang finds themselves lost in the forest, again. They bump into Gary and a Hoothoot and learn the only way through the illusions of the forest is to be guided out by a Hoothoot...Team Rocket kidnaps a Totodile from Professor Elm's lab in New Bark Town...Ash and the gang meet Casey, a baseball fanatic trainer, who received Professor Elm's Chikorita...On their travels, Ash, Misty and Brock, meets a trainer that take them to the Charizific Valley, a place where wild Charizards battle each other to become stronger.
