This brilliant, fast, spicy Salsa class will inspire Latin rhythms in everyone - dance with feeling! It gives a real flavour of what Salsa is all about, the feel of the rhythm and the concept of the speed and counting patterns of the feet movements. A great class to make you laugh and give you confidence, all set to a hot Latin beat. Teacher Larisa Chaddick demonstrates the basic steps and routines, initially to an energetic, fast beat to get you truly warmed up and in the mood, and then mixes together all the steps learnt to a slightly slower pace. This clever technique enables you to feel that you are learning quickly, and then are able to really dance the slower routine. Larisa then reintroduces a slightly faster pace for the final routine, in which all the steps and a full turn are brought together to be danced with true Latino feeling. Master the basics at your own pace, and find the inspiration to join a class that suits you.
Advice from Larisa
Salsa can be done anywhere. It takes very little space and in fact, if you can keep your movements small you can more easily adapt to dancing in a club, where you usually have very little space to move around. You can wear just about anything to dance Salsa in, as long as it doesn't restrict your movements. Don't wear shoes with a rubber sole or a very strong grip as turning in such shoes can damage your ankles. Also make sure that you wear shoes with a flat sole, which will allow you to turn smoothly.- Actors:
