- Synopsis:
- Allen Bauer (Tom Hanks), a successful yet single New York businessman, is knocked unconscious during a boating accident. His beautiful rescuer (Daryl Hannah) is the girl of his dreams. There's only one slight complication - Allen's fallen hook, line and sinker for a mermaid.

Divine innocence - Splash review by RL
The dvd has been rendered in perfect quality from celluloid. This came out when I was a teenager, but I only just got round to seeing it. Now I know what all the fuss was about: it's absolutely brilliant. Daryl Hannah is so amusing as a mermaid totally innocent to life on land in a big city. She reacts with profound innocence to the things we use instinctively, like a revolving door. She even acts well under water. This movie will charm all ages.

Very old and slow film by modern standards, and a bit adult here and there for little ones perhaps, but still has a certain charm about it.
