- In one of the most pristine and beautiful landscapes in the world, a team working to exploit the oil resources of Alaska is tormented by an unseen evil. When one crewmember is found dead, a disorientation slowly claims the sanity of the other members of the team as each of them succumbs to an unknown fear. After a malevolent wind brings down a plane two crewmembers are forced out into the cold, in a desperate bid for survival. But thy soon find themselves battling for their lives against an ancient supernatural force.

Don't bother! - The Last Winter review by TE
Watching this film really made me want to return to the original Jon Carpenter film 'The Thing'. That film remains the definitive "isolated Arctic scientist station" movie, and 'The Last Winter' is dire in comparison.
There is a worthy environmental shading to the story (the melting of the permafrost) but the random way in which the characters go crazy is just laughable.
It's a low budget affair and anything resembling a monstrous presence doesn't show up until the end.
I watched this out of a cultish interest in the director, Larry Fessenden, but...oh dear, another lockdown mistake!
