Boring - The Soloist review by CP Customer

Not sure I am qualified to rate this film as I did not actually finish watching it. Although Robert Downey Junior and Jamie Foxx are both credible actors the film never gives them the chance to develop (by the 57th minute)a role that is either believable or emotional. I found myself not caring what happened to either character and for that reason stopped watching it. I can only assume that the tramp cello player ended up playing for an orchestra again, who knows. Not worth renting.

Story about a story - The Soloist review by NC

Problem with doing films based very loosely on a true storey, is the story has to have a decent ending. A journalist basically made some money out of a sad street entertainer, did managed to gain him some financial support, and guy sank back into oblivion.

Jamie and Bob did their job, but with poor script and weak story.

A Disappointment - The Soloist review by CP Customer

The musician lacked authenticity as his miming was poor. Very complex; didn't draw the viewer in and left my husband confused and frustrated.
