Synopsis:
The breakout of young Tyso Boswell, a new homo superior sets the Tomorrow People, off on a mission to investigate Colonel Masters and his Experimental Weapons Establishment. A unit intent on harnessing and using the Tomorrow People's unique powers...for evil. Tyso is sold to the EWE by his abusive father, and using a dangerous drug called Synoptrol, Colonel Masters starts experiments on him to unlock the secrets of the homo superiors. John, Stephen and Elizabeth attempt a rescue operation that will take them to the heart of the research unit to save the vulnerable Tyso.
But how will the Tomorrow People fare against an enemy with such military might at his disposal?Answering the plea of Ambassador Timus Irnok Mosta of the Galactic Federation (a close clone brother of TIM), the Tomorrow-People set off for the first time to an alien planet - 'Pyrie'. Once there they need to free the Pyrie telepaths (known as the 'Vesh') from the grossly unpleasant, mandating, ruling Khultan (the builders of Earth's pyramids). Arriving on Pyrie, the Khultan's psi-dampening equipment strips the Tomorrow People of their powers, but John gets help from Tikno (another close clone brother of TIM). Together they try to disarm the equipment before Elizabeth and Tyso are sacrificed to the Khultan. Will a powerless John succeed and can the Tomorrow People really save the Vesh and the people of Pyrie? Spying an unidentified, space-craft heading towards the Earth, the Tomorrow People set out to investigate the nature of this latest potential threat and come face-to-face with a bizarre-alien family whose culture and mannerisms have beep shaped by prolonged exposure to Earth's television programmes, in particular Westerns! When the crew's servant Elmer escapes the clutches of the domineering Momma and her spoilt daughter Emily, the hunt is on to track him down before the vengeful Momma exacts her wrath upon the inhabitants of Earth. An unknowing John beams aboard the ship only to be rendered totally powerless and worse... the target of Emily's unwanted affections! Captured aboard her craft he must attempt to please her until he can make an escape. Can Stephen, Liz and Tyso return Elmer to the ship and save John before Emily eats him? Professors Johnson and Cawston are investigating an Egyptian tomb - the interior of which has remained sealed for many thousands of years. When Johnson finally breaks through the last wall, a pulsating light fills the room causing Dr. Johnson to faint and the labourers to flee. Arriving on the scene too late to witness a mummy from the tomb shape shift into Johnson's image, Cawston doesn't become suspicious until he returns to England where he finds Johnson behaving strangely. He contacts the Tomorrow People for their help in solving this mystery. Liz, John and Professor Cawston (with a little help from a matter transporter) jaunt to Egypt to investigate further. At the same time, Evergreen Boswell witnesses Stephen win TV's talent show "Opportunity Knocks". It's not until we see that the winning "Stephen" is actually the shape-shifting robot Jedikiah that we finally realise that dark forces are afoot!
