- Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea is an American science fiction series based on the 1961 film of the same name. The show, which aired from 1964 until 1968, was set in the 1970’s and 80’s and focuses on the crew of the fictional S.S.R.N Seaview, an American research submarine and their underwater adventures. The show starred Richard Basehart and David Hedison as the sub’s designer/builder and Captain.
