- "You expect me to go up there?" was Fred Talbots reaction when we first pointed out the route up the front of Yewbarrow. Seven weeks later, following Eric Robson's advice and having broken himself in on Stybarrow Dodd and Great Calva, Eagle Crag, Thornthwaite Crag, Knott Rigg and Pike O' Blisco, he went up Yewbarrow - if not like a mountain goat, at least with a spring in his step.
