The booklet includes an extensive article by Captain Dale Dye (U.S. Marine Corp, retired), the military consultant on Hollywood movies such as "Platoon" and "Band of Brothers", describing the life of G.I.
s during World War II - ordinary men in an extraordinary situation. A second informative article tells the story of the U.S. Marines, immortalised in the Joe Rosenthal photograph, who raised the Stars & Stripes at the top of Mount Suribachi, Iwo Jima on 23rd February 1945.
