Synopsis:
As technology improved and new forms of warfare became available, the Second World War quickly developed into more than just a ground war. The technological advancements meant that major aerial battles could now take place. In order to inflict damage against enemy air bases and buildings, the airplane quickly became a pivotal piece of machinery that would ultimately decide the outcome of the war. This video explores the majority of the most famous planes including: German BF 109, FW 190, ME 262, English Spitfire and Hurricane, American P-51 Mustang, P-38 Lighting, F 4 U and F 6 U along with the Japanese Zero.
It gives a further fascinating insight into the ME 262, the first jet - powered fighter aircraft that was introduced by the Luftwaffe in 1942. This Hunter set new standards in aviation history, claiming over 500 allied kills.
