- Synopsis:
- Ten years after fighting together in World War 1, Alf Stokes (Paul Shane) and James Twelvetrees (Jeffrey Holland) meet again when they find themselves both working for the aristocratic Lord Meldrum (Donald Hewlett) and his family. It becomes apparent to James that Alf has not changed since those war days and is still after every penny he can get, no matter how dishonestly. Ivy's affections for James grow and Teddy is desperately trying to fight his looming marriage to Madge Cartwright (Yvonne Marsh). Alf is still managing to evade the consequences of his illegal schemes; maybe Ivy's prayers really are answered.
