David Attenborough: Life in the Undergrowth: Series

Top Nature programme

(Edit) 16/02/2006

Attenborough is a living legend and this series makes no exception to that rule!

Madame Bovary

Absolutely Boring

(Edit) 28/02/2006

This is one of the greatest stories ever written. Flaubert explored emotion like never before in his novel. Unfortunately Chabrol has just transposed the facts of the novel onto screen and forgotten about the cinema. Watch this if you just want to know the story but otherwise try and get your hands on Abraham Valley be Manoel de Oliveira for a fuller version of the novel in film.

Free Money

Classic Sheen

(Edit) 28/02/2006

Off the wall yankee comedy done with French production and director makes this great cast and well written plot an enjoyable watch. It's well filmed with careful camera angles and poignant pisstaking. Just right for what it is: a charlie sheen comedy.

El Mar

Unbearable

(Edit) 16/02/2006

This film is a nightmare of the after-effects of the Spanish civil war. A group of children, traumatised by events during the civil war end up in a horror film-esque TB penitentiary. One continuous, unpleasant shock. Watch it if you like maiming yourself!

Boudu Saved from Drowning

Just Beautiful

(Edit) 16/02/2006

Sit down and enjoy this slice of wonderful 'old times' movie. The atmosphere is one of times past and the storyline is lyrical. If you like french cinema go for this one.
