A fantastic testament to the strength of 90s Hong Kong cinema. It's a coming of age/gangster story shot rough and ready on the mean streets of Hong Kong, circa 1997. The cast is great and it employs pretty much every stylistic trick known in the book. At its core though it's quite an emotional film - talking about how youthful optimism cedes in the face of adult expectations.

If you like other Asian urban dramas like Millennium Mambo and Chungking Express then I've no doubt you'll love it :)
