How do films like this get made and why was it on my list.......

Awful, grim, unfunny......and just to get to 100 characters poor, bad, don't watch.

This film is terrible - why did it ever get put into cinemas. It cost $45m to make and yet grossed $100m in the USA - eh ?

There is nothing funny about it at all and very little to say that gives it credit. The jokes are grim, the underlying racism and misogyny incredible and it's impossible to work out who went to see this film.

Avoid at all costs - watching you own toe-nails grow will be time better spent......

Accepting that we all have to work...... SLJ should know better.

The plot to this film is preposperous.

Top film, a bit dated but still great to see again. Connery at his best and Robert Shaw superb.

I had just read the book again and wanted to see what the film looked like.

Excellent.
