Aika and Aine (2000)

Mika Taanila's films deal with the significant and alarming issues of human engineering and urban artificial surroundings. Other key elements in these documentaries are futuristic ideas and utopias of contemporary science. "The Future's not what it used to b"' portrays the visionary musician and inventor Erkki Kurenniemi. "Futuro" tells about the plastic houses. In "Robocup" Taanila covers the robot football championships. "Physical Ring" is a minimalistic found-footage film with music by Mika Vainio (Pan Sonic), while "Optical Sound" combines the beauty of matrix printers with music by the user.
