Distant Bridges charts the story of two young boys who in 1915 sign up to fight for King and Country. Though they were under age, the recruiting officer turned a blind eye ensuring that Arthur and Wilfred became part of the conflict known as the Great War. It was to make them men before their time. The innocence of youth, the adventure of growing up, the relationship of a boy and girl were all finally to explode in devastating facility. Distant Bridges does not glorify or condone war, it simply tells the tender love story of two young people. It is a lesson to all, that no matter how hard life is, there is always tomorrow...a new day, a new beginning.
