Takacs Quartet: Shubert: Death of a Maiden (2006)

In the elegant setting of Scotland's Hopetoun House, the multi-Gramophone-Award-winning Takacs Quartet presents a programme of quartet masterpieces headed by Haydn's colourful 'The Bird'. This is followed by Schubert's dramatic "Death and the Maiden" Quartet, and the programme is completed by the first of Beethoven;s "Razumovsky" Quartets. the performances are enhanced by the Takacs Quartet players' introduction to and discussion of each of the pieces.
