Want happened to the scale of the event?

When you read all the statistics about the at Dunkirk the scale of the operation is what comes through, Nolans insistence on not using CGI completely failed on that score, this looks like a little local skirmish, half dozen planes, 30 ships and a couple of thousand men on the beach.
