Prophets of Science Fiction: Jules Verne and Robert Heinlein

Not worth watching

(Edit) 22/12/2021

The first part of the film, i.e. the part about Jules Verne, was marginally better than the part about Robert Heinlein. At least the viewer could identify the links that are now evident from his ideas and writings. The Robert Heinlein part in my opinion did not clearly identify connections to the scientific ideas in his books. Instead it was mainly based on what was perceived as his character without showing a clear basis in the ideas he used in his fiction.

Modern Times

Black and white silent slapstick of the earlyish 1900s.

(Edit) 15/09/2017

This film is given some background in the commentary given on the DVD. This briefly explains the situation in the 1920's, which is, I believe, the time the film is about, and also gives further information on Charles Chaplin himself. It is enjoyable as a light entertainment after seeing too many of the usual story lines from Hollywood.
