Archive Series: Routes from Northampton (2003)

Using Northampton as a centre lines radiating out to other areas are covered in this nostalgic look at the steam and early diesel era of the 1960s, plus footage from much earlier. Northampton steam shed is featured during its working days and after closure, with the demolition of the coaling tower and ash plants recorded on film. Other locations visited include: Stratford-on-Avon; Woodford Halse; Banbury; Fenny Compton; Rugby and many others. The industrial railways are also featured with views at Stewart and Lloyds at Corby and the Kettering Coal and Iron Company.
