Four years before Buena Vista released its self-titled classic, Gloria dropped Mi Tierra, a Cuban-roots album that became a platinum best-seller throughout North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia. Gloria Estefan highlighted her Cuban musical heritage with the release of her last album 'Alma Caribena', which featured songs based not only on Cuban music idioms but also the infectious genres from other parts of Latin America.
