In 1986, Michael Petrucciani put his trio on hold and embarked on a duo tour with the legendary guitarist Jim Hall. The tour started in Montreal where Petrucciani and Hall rehearsed with Wayne Shorter to prepare for a live recording to be done at the Montreux Jazz Festival, an event that comes with a fully equipped recording studio and a full video crew. The result is one of the most inspired performances of Petrucciani's recorded legacy. He and Hall perform four dates before Wayne joins them for the second half of the set. His tenor and soprano darts and weaves his amazing ideas over the dazzling accompaniment of Hall and Petrucciani. a unique evening of music from three giants.
