In July 2001, Kemble Airfield in Gloucestershire played host to one of the UK. In brilliant sunshine, a capacity crowd thrilled to a unique tribute to one of Britain's greatest ever front-line fighter aircraft - the Hawker Hunter - celebrating the 50th anniversary of its first flight. No less than fifteen of these classic early jet fighters were assembled to give an unforgettable display, many appearing for the first time in the UK. The climax of the event was all fifteen vintage Hunters flying a delta formation - a sight not witnessed for decades in Britain. This video includes all the action from this spectacular milestone in British aviation history, as filmed by five ground cameras, eleven mini-cam installations on board the Hunters, and four different air to air cameras. It also takes you behind the scenes to see the preparations and practice flights, to sit in on general and formation briefings and to meet veteran Hunter pilots. - Studio:
