Synopsis:
Senior professional karate instructor Dave Wilkins presents the full Shotokan karate syllabus from beginner level to purple belt (5th Kyu). He began training in 1979 and has been devoted to this dynamic art form ever since, winning several national championships. A senior member of the Shotokan Ryu Kase Ha group run by Sensei Taiji Kase 9th dan and a former pupil of Britains most outstanding karate teacher Steve Cattle 6th Dan (1948-95). This video is essential for any one taking up the Shotokan karate system.
Detailed descriptions of all the stances, basic attacking, blocking and kicking techniques for each level are clearly shown Every kata including: Taikyoko Shodan, Heian Shodan, Nidan, Sandan, Yodan and Godan are demonstrated. Kumite exercises from three and one step sparring are included with different blocks and counters shown involving long and close range defence techniques.
