New cars, new world champion, exciting as ever: the World Rally Championship of the 2022 season really had a lot to offer. Just one day after his 22nd birthday, Finn Kalle Rovanperä became the youngest World Rally Champion ever. As a top driver, he also drove one of the new Rally1 hybrids in their first season. The title was not to be taken away from him since his victory in Rally New Zealand, which was finally back after a long Corona break. Experience also the other WRC heroes, of whom admittedly only Ott Tänak and Thierry Neuville still managed victories - and the two veteran champions Sébastien Loeb and Sébastien Ogier, who took first place in Monte-Carlo and in Spain respectively.
