If you've never heard of Peterloo this is a very good place to start. It is a very thoughtful and well produced film which has a lot of authentice touches. As it's a certificate 12 it is suitable for young people, though it is a trifle over-long and the long scenes of speeches at the beginning were rather didactic and may be off-putting to younger audiences. Otherwise, well worth seeing.

This was an excellent film with some fascinating footage which I had never seen before. It is a comprehensive, fascinating and amusing account of the history of capitalism in America since the mid-twentieth century. Moore presents an excellent argument against the laissez-faire free market system which is currently draining and debilitating most of the world, but he presents it in a very entertaining style. I was sorry when it finished and now want to see it again.

This was great fun and you can definitely see the influence of the Coen Brothers. What we particularly liked about it was that the scenes of violence were pretty tame for these days and it was so nice that all those who ended up dead were villains anyway. What a change to see a film with no graphic violence towards women or children!.

This was a very interesting film and as good as any by Joseph Losey. I think it's probably one of the best roles I've seen Alain Delon in and it deals with a very serious, often unexplored topic, the level of collaboration in France under German occupation. Beautifully filmed and well paced and I think there should be a special mention for its setting in old Paris and the gorgeous 1930s costumes. Like many Losey films, I feel I could watch this many times.
