Potentially a fantastic, dark, and blackly comic film about the hopeless writer, played by micheal douglas, and the weekend that everything fell apart The film just doesnt quite go far enough i'm afraid, and is very 2d. tobey maguire's performance as a suicide obsessed young wannabee writer is the outstanding part in this film.

Excellent girly fun when you just need to unwind!

Looking at the cast for this, i got v excited, but it is very very slow and average, and a bit 'seen it all before'... performance from billy bob, is as always wonderful but this badly executed script and plot doesnt do him justice.

Apart from a couple of moments which made me smile, slightly - note not laugh outloud, 'blackball' was just one massive disappointment. not quirky and british but just a bit hopeless... sorry to say they couldnt make and interesting film from bowls!
