Agatha and the Curse of Ishtar

Unenthusiastic Review of a favourite genre...

(Edit) 28/09/2020

I suspected this was going to be more 'TV' than 'Big Screen' and was unfortunately right. Not terrible - just a bit drab and non-committal - and definitely not as well told or timed as well as Hickson's Marple or Ustinov's Poirot. It's okay if you're watching it doing something else at the same time - on a wet afternoon - don't be afraid to pause it for a couple of tea breaks.. not a good sign when you don't care who did it..

Most interesting aspect was the character assumptions about Agatha herself and her take on people in general -  dismissive.

Mortal Engines

Mortal Engines

(Edit) 25/06/2019

I'm too old (61) to be watching this kind of film with an open mind. Seemed dated and childish and poorly acted and plotted.

Shame. I was liking forward to it.

Wonder Woman

Definitely a relief... thanks!

(Edit) 31/10/2017

After all the poor decisions and mixed baggage of the current DC fayre it's a massive relief to finally leave the cinema with a general upbeat and positive disposition. Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins gave shown what can be done - and I hope DC learns from it.
