Manon of the Spring
Superb, but do watch Jean de Florette first!

These are really two parts of the same story. Beautifully filmed, the two together have a timeless quality, something like Shakespeare or Greek tragedy. Tragedy yes, but hugely enjoyable and satisfying in its ultimate conclusion.

Camomile Lawn

A perfect adaptation of the book, itself based on Mary Wesley's uninhibited love life in WW2. Wonderful characters, ideal casting, the wonderful Cornish coast shot in summer sunshine - sheer bliss.
