George Kitchener Bulman is back. Television's scruffiest, quirkiest cop is now retired from police work and mends clocks in his own South London antiques-cum-junk shop. But old habits die hard, and the instincts of a lifetime are never far from the surface. All it takes is the daughter of an old colleague, one Lucy McGinty, a university drop-out with an obsession for criminology and a determination that she and old "GBH" are to be partners in a private detective agency. So, the classics-quoting detective is back on the street - reluctantly returning to the intrigues of the London underworld and international espionage - but this time he is free of the police code. The old skills which turned Bulman into a cult figure in Granada's acclaimed police series 'Strangers' are put to use again, along with the tatty string gloves and the plastic carrier bag 'briefcase'...Don Henderson is George Bulman, starring alongside BAFTA-nominated Siobhan Redmond in her first role in a television drama series.
