Synopsis:
Three films celebrating the golden age of British steam.

Train Time
Controlling the diverse railway of the early fifties (almost all steam) is the subject of this film featuring both passenger trains and freight services transporting fresh fish from Aberdeen, vegetables from Cornwall and steel from South Wales.

1953 saw the dawn of a New Elizabethan Age and the 'crack' non-stop holiday express from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh Waverley in six and a half hours was named "Elizabethan Express". This film follows the trains' journey with reference to those who made this train possible, the locomen, carriage dept., catering staff, controllers etc...
Golden Arrow
1947 saw the return of the pre-war prestigious train from London's Victoria Station to Paris Gare du Nord. This colour film promotes the delights of Pullman travel behind new streamlined express locomotives and aboard the refitted "Maid of Kent"!
