Thaai Kizhavi is a rural drama centered around Pavunu Thaayi, a fearsome elderly woman who is both respected and feared in her village because of her ruthless ways of collecting debts. She runs a money-lending racket and expects strict repayment from the villagers, showing no mercy or compassion for their struggles. Her intimidating presence even terrifies schoolchildren, and everyone in the community dreads crossing her path. Despite knowing that she is widely disliked and that no one would show up to mourn her if she died, Thaayi prides herself on her toughness and independence.
However, as events unfold, a dramatic development makes the villagers - and perhaps Thaayi herself - confront the possibility of her mortality, pushing the story into emotional and suspenseful territory
