Excellent overall. I can understand why it was not liked when first released,because I think that the main player was slightly miscast, but he grew on me.

The direction & cinematography were superb, with each shot like a painting.

A tragic tale,but worth watching to the end.

Ok, but typical of this type of French film.Daniel Auteuil looks too old for this part. Otherwise ok.

Visually fascinating, with music to match. Not sure what it was about, but I watched it twice - this must mean something...

I would recommend the film - be good to see it in a group on a big screen.
