Just before the outbreak of World War 2, Churchill is concerned that European immigrants entering the UK may be Nazi spies. Such is his concern that he orders them to be sent to an extremely harsh interment camp in the Australian Outback. Starring Bob Hoskins, Joseph Spano and Warren Mitchell this highly acclaimed and award winning series follows the group of prisoners as they try to re-create a camp that is filled with culture and gourmet food. A little Viennese society in the middle of the outback.
Unbeknown to the prisoners, events begin to change. A representative of the British Home Office is hacking his way through the Australian red tape to try to get them released, then Singapore falls to Japanese bombers and Colonel Berry sees his chance to become a real soldier in a real war.
