- Upon the death of much-loved radio and TV humorist Herb Fuller, his manager, Sid Moore , ropes young company reporter Joe Harris into putting together a lavish memorial broadcast. Interviewing several of Fuller's associates and acquaintances, Joe discovers that the popular personality was callous, shallow and selfish. Caught between wanting to expose Fuller's true persona and the possibility of advancing his own career, Joe finds guidance from an unexpected source.
