The Secret Garden
Dire and boring
First the good:
- Although a very low budget film, it 'looks' good
- The sets and costumes were very inventive. Excellent 'Steam Punk' design
Now the bad:
- The concept (replace original Victorian setting with post-apocalyptic industrial setting) is interesting ... but simply does not work
- It's VERY grim. There is literally no fun/upbeatness. Everything is so depressing. It needed some jokes to lift the mood!
My advice is to avoid this film like the plague (we had to grit our teeth to get to the end of this film). It's a waste of a rental.
- Having said that, hats off to some of the designers who worked on the film ... you are very talented!
