I started off enjoying this film, but in the end found it far too long and ponderous at over 3 hours. I'm not an expert on films and directing, but felt that it could easily have told the story in half the time. Spoiler alert - The most interesting part of the film was when the niece gave a speech at the end to explain why his building project had been so designed! I didn't hate it, but found so little to enjoy about this to enjoy. I don't like to give up with a film but I can think of many other ways I would rather have spent over 3 hours of my life.

I've never written a review on Cinema Paradiso before, but felt compelled to do so after siting through this DVD. Probably one of the very worst films I have ever seen. We found all the characters completely unbelievable, the script dire and acting pretty poor....... a load of sentimental tosh. Please don't waste your time investing in thi!

Absorbing documentary about a very brave girl............I admired her courage and determination in facing the obstacles women have in her world.
