Three Colours: Red

More Ennui than Ah Oui

(Edit) 24/08/2006

Slow and dull. If this is the masterpiece I'm glad we haven't had the other two yet. The plot plods along with unbearably implausible conversations and you just can't begin to like the characters or find anything engaging about them. We gave up after an hour as we just couldn't bring ourselves to care what happened in the rest of the film. We do like World Cinema but this doesn't match films such as Delicatessen or Motorcycle Diaries.

The Prisoner: Series

I am not a number. I am a free man!

(Edit) 24/08/2006

Great series from the late 60s. Every episode it looks like he's going to escape. Who is holding him prisoner? Why did he resign? I haven't watched the last episode yet so I can't spill the beans. All set in Portmeirion in Wales which is well worth a visit if only for the hilarious pet cemetery with 'Roger the Dog'. This was the precursor for series such as The Man from Uncle. Patrick McGoohan hams it up well.
