Being almost as egregiously misleading as U571 I have to say this was an entertaining and at times gripping film. The basic plot is unbelievable but essentially it happened. Only 80% of the idea was Canada's and the Kiwi and UK embassies didn't turn our allies away. The main US player in reality was a latin chap, who must have been very brave, so Affleck took that part. But it's a good , well acted, exciting, involving film but the deliberate historical distortions leave an unpleasant taste.

Save your time and look elsewhere for this is a poor effort. A very weak story line can't be saved even by a very over rated motor cycle.

Monumental poor acting and an execrable concept based in fantasy make this one of the worst films I've ever watched. Brian Cox and Miranda Richardson make a bad script worse. Save your time delete from your list.

I'm into my sixth decade as a Lady Day devotee. This piece had me riveted from start to finish. After viewing seek out The United States v. Billie Holiday ( which is excellent) and then spend the rest of your life LISTENING to her MUSIC.

Films of this complexity were being made nearly a century ago. The archive footage of the Walker lifeboat is great and the film itself definitely worth a watch. 

I haven't had time to read up about the history of this particular part of Europe's glorious empire building history but the film feels right. Interesting use of archive footage too which can be quite harrowing for the uninitiated. Quinn is excellent and Reed not too bad but overall this is a very good film both from a pure viewing perspective and from a historical one too.

The actors are so white if it were not for the dance sequences one could be mistaken the provenance of this perfectly ordinary film. After a few Bollywood’s you’re better looking elsewhere for entertainment and a interesting storyline. This industry needs a skate up and a wake up. 

Wonderful music and marvellous acting but this very entertaining film has a hard edge but also manages to convey a terrific feel good factor too. One of the best films I've ever seen.
