As would be expected from a film set or made in this era, all the key characters have very “plummy” wartime accents. There seem to be no subtitles, surprising on a restored film, so watching the film it is a fair description as I heard little.
A recent English language film. BUT the combination of heavily accents and the absence of any subtitles meant that we could not follow the story and gave up after less than half an hour.
Surely every modern film should have subtitles in order to enable audio impaired viewers? Seems a bit discrimatory to me...
A long film but the time seemed to fly.
First class cast, easy to follow despite frequent time shifts.
Note that there are no subtitles for the hard of hearing .
