Inspiried by the 1905 visit of Isadora Duncan to Russia, Michael Fokine took the timeless music of Frederic Chopin and created Chopinlana (later renamed Les Sylphides). This ballet celebrates the lyrical and poetic qualities of Romantic Ballet Blanc to express the sublime nature of dance.
