Two mothers are searching for their lost child but the child belongs to none of them! One mother Ratna (Meena Kumarl) has exchanged it from the maternity home without her knowledge and the other one Maya (Minoo Mumtaz) wants to adopt it to grab a huge amount of money inherited by the child from it's grand father. The father of the child dr. An and (Rajendra Kumar) had lost his wife in his maternity hospital and to save the life of one of his patients Ratna who had also incidentally given birth to a male child which had soon after the delivery, died, the kind doctor Anand had given his own newly born boy to Ratna, which secret had only been known to an old w nurse. The small son of dr: Anand (Rajendra Kumar) is being brought up by Ratna and the father finds no peace of mind unless he visits the child under one pretext or the other. Ratna loves the kind doctor but being a widow can not express it. Ratna's mother-in-law and sister-in-law do not like the doctor's frequent visits. They shut the doors on him. He can not come to see the child or the foster mother. The story takes a fateful twist. Maya a nurse of the hospital falls for dr. Anand and in order to entangle him manages to scandalise him. Doctor is hooked cleverly and made to marry her. After marriage She She shows her real color. She is nagging, extravagant, and a shrew. Doctor does not like her. He is in a fix. He goes in search of his child to the parks where he used to meet Ratna but does not fino it. Ratna can no longer come out. Then comes the news of the death of the father of dr. Anand who has whimsically, on his death bed signed a strange will, according to the will the child of his son, dr. Anand, will inherit his entire estates and whosoever brings the child up shall get ... Rs.10,000/- per month. Maya comes to know of it and through the old nurse comes to know that dr. Anand has a child. Maya sues Ratna to get custody of the child. To enable her to claim the inheritance. Now two mothers are claiming the child who belongs to none of them. What is happens to the child? What attitude dr. Anand adopts? What is the hurt's decision? - Actors:
