Synopsis:
Episode 1
David Tait, a millionaire businessman has already stood on the summit of Everest but he has a dream to go one climb further. He wants to be the first person to make a double traverse of the mountain: summiting from the north or Tibetan side, then descending down to the south or Nepalese side and then, subject to weather conditions, repeating the trip in reverse. If he and his climbing partner Sherpa Phurba Tashi achieve this they will enter the history books. This is the amazing story of their daring attempt at a feat never before achieved.

Episode 2
Rod Baber has made it into the record books by climbing all of the tallest peaks in Europe but he has set his sights on a much bigger challenge: the summit of Everest. Never having climbed above 24,500 feet, the height of Camp 2 on Everest, we follow him as he struggles to acclimatise, as he faces the toughest physical and mental challenges of his life and comes face to face with the horrors of Everest. This is the astonishing story of a once in a lifetime shot at taking on the world's highest mountain.

Climbing (treking) for rich people. - Everest Deadliest Climb: British Heroes review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
16/04/2013

I love climbing very much but I and all of the people that I've climbed with can't afford this kind of glorified activity.

They were hiking at very expensively high altitudes; apart from the ego hit, nothing more than showing off.

Where were the underhangs? Where were the verticals? Where were the accidents because your equipment needs replacing but you don't have the money?

Please don't think for a minute I disrespect David for his achievement because he was sexually abused.

I don't respect him for achieving something with resources, that Sherpas have and continue to do with far less resources; or life insurance for their families.

Ability is one thing; the security money can provide is another.
