Jungle City Blues - Lipstick Jungle: Series 1 review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
19/04/2009

Given the links with Sex And the City, its no surprise to realise Lipstick Jungle shares many familiarities with its older New York sibling. The series is more than a modern day revamp, as the characters have greater depth and less reliance on fashion or frivolous lifestyles. The whole methodology is one of balancing hectic personal lives with successful careers, especially when things start to go wrong, which they do frequently for entertainment sake. Unfortunately was what a promising start (not fantastic by any means, but solid enough), was hampered by the writers guild strike and indecision from the NBC network, so only after two seasons Lipstick Jungle is no more. Being stuck on Living TV in the UK meant it never reached the audience it deserved, or had a fair chance of success. So already consigned to the cancelled series file, Lipstick Jungle is well worth a shot to see what was possible.
