- Synopsis:
- Impoverished New York actor Jack Noah (Richard Dreyfuss) is cast in an unusual part when he is persuaded to impersonate the recently deceased president of a Caribbean dictatorship. Spurred on by the leader's revolutionary mistress (Sonia Braga), Noah grows into his role and looks set to triumph in the forthcoming elections - until an attack by guerilla fighters convinces him he should seek less challenging employment.
