Synopsis:
Dereck and Beverly Joubert are award-winning filmmakers from Botswana, and National Geographic Explorers in Residence. Their mission is the conservation and understanding of the large predators and key African wildlife species that determine the course of all conservation in Africa. They have been filming, researching, and exploring in Africa for over 25 years as filmmaking for them has always been a way to bring the message of conservation to a worldwide audience. All their efforts, over a lifetime, all coincide with one aim: to rehabilitate the environment and return vast tracts of land to nature and to protect the wild creatures that depend on it.
Eye of the Leopard follows the remarkable life of one small leopard from when she is just 8 days old, every step of the way until she is 3 years old. Legadema works her way into your heart as she slips in and out of danger every day. The resulting film is the story of her coming of age. Living with Big Cats is an intimate story of the relationship between our two filmmaker-explorers and Legadema. They follow her as she matures, first in the company of her mother, then hunting on her own. It is a story of the seduction of Dereck and Beverly by Legadema.
