Act of was or war crime? This is the question that surrounded the most controversial event of the 1982 Falklands War: was the cruiser outside the Falkland Islands "exclusion zone" and therefore immune from attack as Argentina claims? Or was it actively threatening British forces in the area? Twenty years later this programme embarks on a journey into history - a journey to find the Belgrano and try to answer the puzzling questions about her mission, her location and her sinking on that fateful day. Using Sonar and a remotely-operated submersible undersea explorer Curt Newport goes searching for the wreck.
