In 1221 two castaways landed happily on the coasts of Sicily. They dress the habit of the Franciscan friars. They are called Giulietto and Antonio. The latter kneels, asking for forgiveness, before the bishop of the place and begins to tell his story...So begins St. Anthony of Padua, the film that tells the story of Fernando di Buglione, young Portuguese who against the will of a noble father chose the convent instead of fighting against the Muslim threat. That is, St. Anthony (Daniele Liotti), the noble knight who became a faithful follower of St. Francis, servant of the Church with the Word instead of the Sword.
