Denigrated and exiled to the backroom bars and karaoke lounges of Kowloon's infamous Portland Street, after being sidelined by mob boss boyfriend Walkie (Simon Yam), Tung Yen (Yau) rises like a phoenix to energise the local club circuit into a playground of sensual fire and untamed passion. An uneasy alliance with druglord King (Elvis Tsui), and fevered romance with a debonair playboy, Man (Michael Tao), guarantees a fragile existence right on the edge of danger.
When the shadowy figure of Walkie emerges from self-imposed exile in Amsterdam to reclaim past glories, Tung Yen is suddenly thrust into a desperate battle for survival, as Walkie sadistically carves his authority into the underbelly of the local gang scene in a brutal struggle for overall supremacy, and determines to re-possess her, whatever the cost...

Street Trash - Street Angels review by CS

Spoiler Alert

I rented this dvd thinking it might have something to do with the Young and Dangerous series, after finding out that there are actually 6 Young and Dangerous films plus various spin-offs. This one was mentioned. There are hardly any referrals to Y&D - the only character mentioned was Kwan who was killed off in the first movie, you have to bear in mind this one was made around the time of the 2nd and 3rd movies. I would say, the format was more or less the same as Young and Dangerous. Overall I was a bit disappointed, on the lack of individuality - they used the same theme music and the same ending as Y&D. Perhaps I am a bit biased, I really enjoyed Y & D so much that I bought the whole series with 6 spin offs that made sense.

I think this was one of Simon Yam's worse film, plus I find Shu Qi really annoying

Rent it at your own peril.
