Clara, a beautiful young girl, is visiting St. Petersburg with her family when she discovers a toy shop, and inside the shop window, a small nutcracker with a tear in his eye. 'Perhaps I can explain' says the owner, and he begins to tell Clara the story of how a spoiled young Prince became trapped inside a nutcracker by a magic spell. The owner, a magician himself and also the Prince's uncle, persuades her to embark on a journey to find the Magic Nut which will release the young Prince from the spell.
Together, Clara and the Nutcracker Prince must venture to the Land of Toys, all while battling with the greedy and ambitious Mouseking who wishes to harness these magic powers himself. On a magical journey, full of wonder and discovery, the Nutcracker Prince learns at last the true meaning of love and friendship. With original songs by Sophie B Hawkins and John Sutherland, and Florence Joy, and classical favourites including 'Overture' and 'Waltz of the Flowers' 'The Nutcracker and the Mouseking' is an irresistible family viewing treat.
